A Sense of Place Works with the ECDC – African Community Center to Help a Family of Eight
A Sense of Place (“ASOP”) recently worked on another project with the ECDC – African Community Center of Las Vegas (“ACC”) to help another family of eight who was recently displaced. ASOP helped decorate and organize this three bedroom, two bath apartment home in Las Vegas thanks to community donations, including from our partner Goodwill Industries of Southern Nevada (“Goodwill”). The pictures below show three of the seven rooms that we decorated.
The ACC is a multicultural resource center dedicated to helping newcomers to Las Vegas with a wide range of educational, social, and other support services as they relocate to Southern Nevada. As part of the ACC’s programs, the ACC provides housing and some furniture (but no home décor or home organization systems) to those relocating to Southern Nevada through Federal grants and community donations.
ASOP recently partnered with Goodwill to further our respective missions of providing assistance and empowerment to low-income and displaced persons in Southern Nevada. Through this partnership, Goodwill allocates funding and in-kind donations to ASOP to provide home décor, home organization systems and related services to low-income or displaced persons.
