A Sense of Place is Honored to Partner with the ECDC – African Community Center of Las Vegas

A Sense of Place Founder, Payson Cunningham met recently with the Director of the ECDC – African Community Center of Las Vegas, Milan Devetak, to discuss ways to partner together to serve immigrants and refugees as they resettle in Southern Nevada. The African Community Center of Las Vegas (“ACC”) is a multicultural resource center dedicated to helping refugee/newcomers to Las Vegas with a wide range of educational, social, and other support services as they relocate to Southern Nevada from a variety of countries, usually where are victims of or have a fear of persecution or are coming from crowded refugee camps.  As part of the ACC’s programs, the ACC provides housing and some furniture to those relocating to Southern Nevada through Federal grants and community donations.  Going forward, A Sense of Place will partner with ACC to help outfit the housing provided by ACC with home décor items and organization systems to help provide more nurturing, organized and well-designed living spaces to these refugees and immigrants.
